Only the finest materials find their way into edelwiser skis. Our ‘ingredients’: wood, fibreglass, titanal, steel for the edges, rubber, ABS, phenol, a graphite base, and of course the individually styled topshell.
For the core we us different woods and wood combinations that vary from model to model.
To design a core that works it takes more than just a piece of wood. The configuration of a high quality ski core is science, art, feeling and dependent the right components. That's why our cores consist mainly of ash. Combined with layers of other woods such as poplar and okumé our cores are among the main reasons why our skis make you smile. Carefully laid fibreglass laminates along with the aluminium alloy titanal are responsible for increased torsional stiffness, which ensures precise edge grip and stability on even the hardest runs at the highest speeds. Indeed, all our components, such as the bases and edges, meet the toughest demands of ski racing. To apply the top sheet which carries your custom graphics edelwiser has developed a sophisticated production technique that allows your ski to “hatch” within only two hours from receipt of the final version of the graphical design.

We designed your ski to turn easily and, to minimise the chance of catching an edge, before delivering the skis we tune base edges to a bevel of 1° and gently detune the edges near the ski tips. Another advantage of bevelled base edges is that the structure of the base grinding is removed from the edge. To ensure optimal edge grip we file the side edges to 88°. The filings are then carefully removed and the edges polished for minimal friction.
Of course, we can cater to individual requirements such as smaller side edge angles, smooth bases or sharp edges from tip to tail.
"A soft-flexing ski with "extended shovel" sidecut geometry having a broad and gradual forebody, narrow waist and wide heel. Nicely damp, not much snap to it but definitely responsive.
Nice finish work on the base, edges and laminations. Topsheet graphic layer is matte (non glossy) and appears durable and easy to keep in good condition.
Not your typical "Austrian" race-bred design or flex pattern."
